20 week ultrasound

Ultrasound pics have been added...

We had our 20 week ultrasound today (3/26/2010)… and it’s a GIRL!!! Although we would've been happy either way, we are so excited to be having a little girl! What a blessing to have one of each! Our little angel weighed 10 ounces and measure 19 weeks, 3 days! So glad I have the precious pictures uploaded now...we've been having technical difficulty! : ) The girl doing the ultrasound kept saying how cute she was already! Her profile looks almost exactly like Carter's! She was so funny too...she was folded in half, with her legs on top of her and she kept putting her hands on her face and over her head. It's amazing how you can already see her little features and count her fingers and toes at such a small size! Initially we weren't going to take Carter, but it was such an exciting day that we let him choose whether or not he wanted to come...and of course, he wanted to come with mommy, daddy, mimi, andaddy, and aunt shanda to see Baby 2! It was such a special time and Carter was such a good boy!

The Radiologist reading the results thought she was a little on the small side (which my Dr. disagreed, since all her measurements were only a few days off from 20 weeks) and they noted a mild dilation in her kidneys, so we’ll go back in a month to have another ultrasound. My doctor said she sees that same reading at least 3 times a week, so it is probably nothing, but we’ll check just to make sure.

We met Aunt Lori for lunch afterwards and she brought us the sweetest outfit, cardigan, and snuggly little blanket for Baby 2...I love all the frills!

We had such a wonderful day today- we bought her first girly clothes (spent a ton at Janie & Jack- daddy was shocked…mommy will look at price tags next time)! : ) Not that she needs any clothes since Mere is passing down her entire wardrobe- which is amazing! Mere has some beautiful clothes…in addition to her cutesy carseat, pack n play, and stroller that we get to use! : ) We started a pottery barn registry too- I fell in love with one of the bedding sets (it’s the Penelope bedding and is pink and green with cute little birdies)!! : )

We are going to Florida in October, so we bought Baby 2 and Carter matching outfits...they are going to be so cute together! : )

Carter seems excited…he likes talking about her and especially likes visiting her room!

We've been calling her Harper today! Mommy has secretly been calling her that for about a week now! : ) Not sure whether that's our final decision...we'll see! : )

12 week ultrascreen

Finally have the ultrascreen pictures uploaded...I've had this posting saved as a draft for over 2 months! : )

We had our 12 week ultrasound screening today (1/28/2010)! Baby 2 was so adorable...it was very active, the lady said it was acting like it was on a slip and slide! : ) She said you've got a wild one here...we told her that we already had one at home! : ) Everything went great and we should get the results from the bloodwork back soon. Baby 2 was 5.15 cm, measured at 11 weeks, 6 days, and heartbeat was 169 beats/min (still haven't heard it yet). Baby 2 also kept sticking its tongue out...it was so cute. The lady doing the ultrasound said in all her years of doing them, she didn't think she had ever seen one so young stick its tongue out. I told Matt that maybe it's a girl, since it's sassy already...ha, ha! : ) We'll see...I don't really have a feeling yet!

Happy Easter!

We had such a wonderful Easter- we had a great service at Church and then all of our family went to Aunt Becky's and Uncle Gary's house for a wonderful lunch. Carter & Mere even had another Easter Egg Hunt...what fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

Today was the Easter Egg Hunt at Church. Since it rained this morning, the ground was too wet to have it outside. It didn't phase the kiddos...they still had a blast! Carter was a pro this year! : )

Daddy also gave Carter another haircut today! He looks so handsome!!! Carter wasn't happy about it...we ended up having to bribe him with a lollipop! : )

Harper's Nursery

I wasn't in a big rush to start on the nursery (as I know she'll be in our room for at least the first few months), but Matt has been so excited! He was ready to start working on it the day we found out we were having a girl! We've cleaned out most of the room...actually we've just relocated it to the hall/bonus room upstairs. : ) Here's some of the pics I've taken so far...

Here's her beautiful bedding! We went ahead and bought the toddler quilt, so we would know exactly what the colors were as we were decorating.

Mimi bought Carter, Mere, and baby Harper the cutest bunnies. Carter wanted Harper's bunny to sleep with his last night...it was so sweet!!!!!!!

Boy or Girl????

We find out on Friday if Baby 2 will be a girl or a boy! We are so excited!!! I still have no idea what Baby 2 is! : ) Any guesses???

USA Baby was having a big sale yesterday, so we went and ordered Baby 2's new furniture! It took us forever to find the perfect furniture for Carter and we went right in on Saturday and within minutes found the perfect one for Baby 2! I'll try to scan in a picture. It won't be here for several months, so we still have a while to figure out what we're going to do with all the office furniture and all my scrapbook stuff, leftover mary kay stuff, tons of household paperwork, and JUNK! : )

Tom King Half Marathon

Matt ran his first half marathon today- in an hour and 50 minutes!!! He did so awesome and hasn't even had much time to train! We are so proud of you!!!

Favorite Shirt

This is Carter's favorite shirt...and it isn't even his. Everytime he goes into our closet he pulls it down and plays with it. Tonight he wanted to put it on...soooo cute!
